Jacob Smith for Golden

In the fall of 2006, I proposed launching a Golden Sustainability Initiative. The community and city council energetically supported the idea, and in February more than 200 people participated in a community forum to consider my proposed ten-year goals and to offer ideas about how to achieve those goals. Since then, we created seven community working groups, each of which is preparing recommendations for City Council about refining the goals and about adopting action plans for each of them. More than 80 people are now actively involved in the community working groups.

The Next Step

By early August, the community working groups will make their formal recommendations to city council about the Golden Sustainability Initiative goals and action plans. City council will act on those recommendations.
